Bombing of Nagasaki
09. August
On 9 August 1945, just three days after the bombing of Hiroshima, the United States carried out a second atomic bombing targeting the city of Nagasaki. This plutonium-based bomb was named „Fat Man“ and leveled 6.4 sq km of the city, killing 74,000 people by the end of 1945. This event remains significant as a stark reminder of the destructive power of nuclear weapons and their lasting humanitarian consequences.
